In 2002, David Hornby embarked on his entrepreneurial journey, establishing his own company. This venture was born from his extensive experience in the kitchen and bathroom industry, having previously freelanced for renowned companies across the UK and beyond.
His craftsmanship graced the kitchens of esteemed establishments such as County Kitchens in Surrey, London, the Bespoke Kitchen Co in Stroud, Gloucestershire, and Alexander Kitchens in Manchester. David’s expertise even extended overseas, where he contributed his skills to projects for Crown Kitchens and various others.
With an impressive career spanning over three decades in the KBB (Kitchen, Bedroom, and Bathroom) sector, David’s journey in entrepreneurship began in the late 80s when he initially ran a plumbing and glass shop.
David’s daughter also played a role in the company’s evolution, starting as a Saturday assistant responsible for cleaning the showroom and assembling flat-pack kitchen units. She later pursued catering at college but returned to support the family business during the challenging times of the COVID-19 pandemic. Having decided not to return to her managerial position at a local restaurant, she is now preparing to take the helm of the company when her father decides to retire, ensuring the continuation of their family legacy.
The company now services East Yorkshire, with the option of supply only or full installations on bedrooms, bathrooms and kitchens. Yorkshire Kitchen Company work closely with brands like Silestone, Dekton, HAIER and Bora to ensure that only the best products are used in their designs and installations.
